Microphone and Guitar

Hi at all.

I want to use my microphone and guitar both at the same time to record songs.

I attached them both to my PC... problem is > if I record with my guitar, I only hear it on the left speaker. My microphone is attached correctly > but I can't hear anything.

My goal is, to record some tracks I'll play with guitar and my voice.

Some questions, first:
1) How are you connecting everything? I assume you are using the sound on your PC, and don't have any special audio hardware. Are you using any special connectors, splitters, or cables?

2) What type if microphone are you using? Just a regular PC microphone?

3) What software are you using to record?

You can do what you want without any special hardware. Even plain old PC on-board sound has 2 channels. So, you can record your guitar and voice at the same time, no problem. you just need to have the right hook-ups, and you may need some sort of preamplifier, depending on the equipment you are trying to connect.
