hi guys,
i run ubuntu8.10 on my box, and use cdparanoia to rip then archive as FLAC and then use LAME to encode as mp3 for my ipod (my frontend is grip).
recently, my girl bought a macbook with leopard, and i would like to use her cdda drive to rip some of my CDs (my drive is old), and then transfer the FLACs and mp3's to my ubuntu box.
so i was wondering, is there any alternative to the itunes ripper on mac OSX? something equivalent to cdparanoia/lame? in particular, any of you dual booters have any experience with Max?
(of course, one solution would be to dual boot leopard and ubuntu on her box, but i wouldnt like to do that; even though i like to break and fix things on my box, i cannot take responsibility for breaking hers...)
thanks

there is tons of open source software available to run on OSX.

http://www.macports.org/

Both lame and cdparanoia are in there.

If you are looking for something that fits into the Mac OS better:
