Through looking at cube notes I have found that after installing a second time some how my system has Mesa set up instead of accelerated drivers causing my fps within the game to drop to about 10% of what it's capable of.

If you can show me the way out of this drama plz let me know.:(

Are you using ati drivers by any chance?
Because on my old pc I had a radeon 9250, and it was waay too slow with games, because the 3d accel wasnt active because the drivers are not the greatest to be honest!

Yeah it is ati - last time I installed I had no problems with graphics but this time it wants to use Mesa instead of ati drivers?

I've tried the step by steps and last night I saw a similar question and followed the directions with no luck. But one of the people there has suggested that I saught out a repository issue before starting so I'm off to see the site.

This is the site if anybody else is having a similar problem and I'll pop back in if it doesn't fix the problem. - http://www.ubuntuguide.org/ Sorry this one is better to use it's made for breezy.
