Everybody's favourite Linux game is almost 1.6 by now; third and the last release candidate for it is out into the wild already. I wonder if we'll get the latest and greatest Wesnoth in Jaunty; after all, updating games shouldn't break anything.

and since games usually doesnt break the system theres no harm in installing the latest from getdeb either...

Interesting how 1.6 will be 200mb, and previous stable release is 130mb. Must be lots of improvements for a large increase in size.

Hopefully it will be introduced, but unlikely. They'd probably just take whatever debian has, and I doubt debian will have 1.6 final until later.

Yeah, there're quite a few improvements in the new version. I hope it's included in Jaunty.

The reservation I have is why trust a third party?

Why dont they put their effort into being MOTUS and helping the Ubuntu repos?

I would like to help but I don't know what I have to do.

You could do some compiling. Wesnoth is very easy to compile.

I hope they include it in the final release. It would be a pity to have a version of Wesnoth that doesn't work with the current multi-player option. :(

Have anyone of you filed an FFe in launchpad for this request?

Changes must be filed, or they will go unnoticed.

taavikko has the right path - requests for upstream synchs need to be done in a bug report. So either find the existing bug report for it or create a new bug report. Additionally, as we are in beta freeze you need a freeze exception to be granted.

Last time I filed a bug asking for feature freeze I was supposed to do diff and other stuff on the new program. That was for a couple mb program. Don't think I can do it for 200mb software.
