Hey all Mini 9 users,

If you are familiar with the following site: Ubuntu on the Dell Mini 9 blog, you might know about a potentially interesting app - Desktop Switcher.

I am one of many people who have had their desktops crash because of this app. It was initially suggested this might be a Xorg issue...but I am not so sure. I definitely could not get the following fix to work for me.

Whatever it really is, the app does not play nice with the Netbook Remix. I tried using the app to switch from a compiz enabled theme running on highest setting to a Netbook Remix theme. Epic Failure ensued!

Just to keep new Mini 9 users from having to re-install...think twice before using the Desktop Switcher app.

Did you manage to turn compiz off before installing the desktop switcher? I read at the below links that compiz isn't a happy bedfellow of the netbook remix, so you may need to switch to metacity when using the alternative desktop layout.

EDIT: Whoops I see you already know about the compiz problem, apologies for the rather useless reply.
