I have a Dell mini 9 and need to boot from a cd to get XP to download onto my computer. When booting up there is a line that reads, " Press 0 for boot options," is this where I go? How do I choose the options? I've tried, but Ubuntu still loads. Is doing this the same as pressing esc during the booting process to get into BIOS?

If you press O do you get a menu? Are you sure it is O & not 0 (zero)
If you are able to get into the BIOS you should have an option to change the boot device order. If you do get a menu, you should just be able to use the arrow keys to scroll up & down.

you can usually see a key combo that you need to press to get into the BIOS while the 'DELL' boot/splash screen is there.

It is zero, not "O" the letter. Yes I get a menu when I press zero. So, when I change the order of the boot devices, should I put CD/DVD CD-RW first or Removable devices first? What order should I put them in? I put the disc in a portable drive since no drive will fit on the Dell mini 9.

If it is a USB drive, using CD/DVD should work.
What appears in the menu when you press 0?

When I press zero I get the Boot Menu. It list: Hard Drive, CD/DVD/CD-RW, Removable Devices, Network Boot, and Diagnostics. At the bottom is <Enter Setup>. When I enter setup I get a Main, Advanced, Security, Boot, and Exit pages. The boot page list: hard drive, cd/dvd/cd-rw, removable devices, USB storage, and network boot.

Use either the CD/DVD/CD-RW, Removable Devices. I would think the CD first though. select it & hit enter.

I had to list cd/dvd/cd-rw first in the boot menu and it mattered which usb the drive was pluged into.
