i'm using up-to date jaunty.
when i try to play any movie there is 50-75% chance that is either not gonna have sound or the sound will crackle and the whole video stream will be slow motioned.

anybody have similar problems?

i'm pretty sure thats pulseaudio problem not the codecs in question.

Excellent article for people with Pulse problems.

I no longer have crackling audio and it just works in everything I use, thus far.

I have also been experiencing broken audio and slow motion videos. This guide does not seem to get things right for me, unfortunately... It seemed to work for a while, but I am back to square one.

Every time I install the gstreamer.10-ugly package and it's dependencies it breaks pulse audio. Flash works as long as I do not use full screen, if I select full screen flash video gets extremely choppy. Apple trailers play fine and so do mp3s.
