No FreeCiv Sound ??

I don't have any sound. How do I fix that ?

Some more info is needed.

How did you install it? Any terminal output error? Is it only in freeciv there's no sound?

I installed it with synaptic. The game plays fine but there's no sound.

I don't have sound issues with anything else, just FreeCiv.

Er...here's what I got when I ran it with terminal:

1: Cannot find sound spec-file "stdsounds".
1: To get sound you need to download a sound set!
1: Get sound sets from <ftp://ftp.freeciv.org/freeciv/contrib/sounds/sets>.
1: Will continue with disabled sounds.

This has been an issue for my wife at least since 8.10. I was able to fix it by manually downloading the sounds and passing the sound file directory in a parameter to civclient (I think it used -d, but don't know for sure).
