i got the newest version of ubuntu-8.10-desktop-i386

and popped out the HDD of the mac and installed ubuntu-8.10-desktop-i386 to it, popped it back in and got a white screen with a face and a question mark in a folder

so can we make that go away? and fix it?

the imac will not boot to cd's ive tryed all the hot keys but im not sure if the bios is ****** or what, im not a apple guy
so i have to take the HDD out and do things to it with my windows box

and dont tell me to use the search function -_- ive looked and have found nothing usefull

if you have a G3 iMac, you need the PowerPC version of Ubuntu... i386 is for x86 architecture.

i have an iMac G3 (mines the tray loader) and you need the PPC version. I am having trouble myself getting my mac to boot from ubuntu and xubuntu's live cd :( :KS (i wish they would make kubuntu for PPC)
