View Full Version : Orca Screen Reader and Weather Underground

Hi. Besides Weather.com and AccuWeather.com, I went into Underground Weather (www.wunderground.com) and it is a lot easier to get the temperature information by just hitting "h" (heading) in the keyboard, which takes me to the weather information after I enter my zip code.

What I found annoying is that Orca reads information that I don't want to hear continuously. What I mean is whatever updates information within the page without updating the whole page (that's called meta-refresh), Orca gets that information and reads it to me, and so I'm trying to take control of the screen reader reading the data off the part of the page.

When I close Firefox, Orca still reads data, only though there's only Orca running in Ubuntu. Perhaps it could be a memory leak? I don't know. However, I don't like dynamic websites that updates data every 5 seconds.

Has anybody been to Weather Underground (www.wundergound.com)? It helps if you use Orca.

I have Ubuntu 8.10 running in my virtual machine (also have a netbook, too)..
