Hello,

Im fairly new to Ubuntu and to EHCP, but Im really liking it. EHCP has really opened my eyes on the hosting front and its been a great learning exp.

I have a question about the disk quota that you set when you first add the domains. By default I was setting 500 (I think this means MBs), but a site has grown up to it and I want to allocate more.

The only mention of quota I see in the settings are in the panel users and they each say zero. Am I missing a setting? or is this found somewhere else? Does anyone know how to change this?

Thanks,

Hi,
I congratulate you that you find ehcp, and you found it useful.

If you want to increase space, then you are lucky :)
Because in ehcp, quotas are not working fully.
That is, you can use more space than you set there..
We are working on this, to let them work.

if in future or now, you want to set this anyway, you should go to phpmyadmin->ehcp db->panelusers, ftpacounts tables, and edit quotas there...
there is no user gui yet to edit quotas after they are set up, and useless now, since not supported fully.

You may have look at http://www.ehcp.net/?q=node/233
to see our ideas, and progress of quota implementation in ehcp.

Additionally, if you are a programmer and would like to contribute in this project, we are very pleased to see you in our developers group.

if you have any other questions, let me know...

Thanks so much for the help. I am honored you would ask me to help on such a great product, but I am a amateur at best. Ive been getting better at php and im in the process of messing with ubuntu to get familar with the commands

Maybe one day I could be helpful. Thanks again for the assistance and if you ever need a happy reference, feel free to ask :)

All the best on EHCP, it is really a great hosting software suite.

and good news,
in newer version of ehcp, 0.29.07, quotas are implemented mostly...
You can set and control how much people are using space...

i am ready to help you, as much as i can...

Just did a fresh install of Ubuntu and installed EHCP. I see the quota items in the domain headings (GREAT WORK!!!)

The only thing I noticed that is different is when I go to setup my MYSQL databases, the operations are completed corretly in EHCP, but when I go to edit users/databases/passwords/etc... , I notice that Im told:

Some Error Occured.
This db user is not your user..

I can use the phpmyadmin link to login as root and modify the databases and users to grant access as needed, but i wonder if i set something up incorrectly. I thought I chose all the same settings, but I may be mistaken.

That is only a minor issue since I can login directly to the admin page and perform everything I need there, but I thought I should report the issue :)

Thanks again for your help

Thank you for reporting this, i will check and inform you soon.
And also, since quota feature is new, there may be some bugs related to that, Dont rely on that strongly, it is not tested ver well yet...

Anyway, this is a big jump of ehcp, "quota implementation.. "
We are trying to do things in a fast, clever way.. Otherwise, we can implement in any way, which may slow down the system..

Understood, thanks again. I wont base any rules too strongly on the quotas, Right now its just used by me. With a 250GB drive, I shouldnt run into any problems.

Glad to help on the MYSQL issue, let me know if you need any other info :)
