virtualbox doesn't recognize laptop touchpad

i have no idea where to start to fix this... searched didn't find anything... keyboard works fine, i get no mouse response from xp though.

i do get the message saying that it's going to capture my mouse, but it never does. any advice? or anything i need to post to help me get this worked out?

edit: no clue why this fixed it, but i just changed the resolution and it started responding.
