What were you looking for in Ubuntu since the day to decided to switch either from Mac or Windows?
What do you like about Ubuntu so much?
What do you use in Ubuntu that no other OS offers?
Why are you liking it?
What would you change?

And post a link for your favorite theme!

Technically I use arch now but this was when I used kubuntu

1. A decent music player (and I found amarok)
2. Amarok, K3B, KDE4.2, KMess 2, hassle free, quick startup, secure
3. The support both here and on the internet in general
4. See 2 and 3
5. Replace apt with pacman, have a rolling release and make it cli by default

I was looking for an operating system with a future. I didn't come from Mac or Windows.

The systematic release schedule you can count on.

Nothing.

It gets the job done.

I'd like to see more consistency in the user interface. I like what I am seeing as far as the Linux Standards Base is concerned but I'd like to see a similar idea concerning the ui.

Is Amarok the best music player for Ubuntu?

You're playing with fire asking that question. There are so many great music players available in Ubuntu that finding "the best" is a difficult task indeed.

I used to use Amarok religiously under Gnome, but have since moved on to Banshee and Exaille. Both are fantastic programs (I prefer Banshee).

- more windows applications alternatives...

- it's simple...

- compared to windows, obviously the security; to other distros, i guess it's just that ubuntu make things simpler, but not in a retarded way...:D

- again, it's just plain simple

- mmm, i guess would change those packages in the repos with updated ones always...

Awesome! Are there any leaks on the next version? If it will include something new ?

- Change, the experience of trying something new, a hopefully smoother OS than Windows.

- Being able to configure everything I want, the community, the endless amount of cool software I keep discovering.

- I like gnome to work with. Other than that, nothing specific.

- Being able to customize everything. And it's much faster to set up than Windows.

- The default window theme (it looks a little outdated in my opinion).

1. Easy to install most programs
2. Customizability
3. Terminal (this is offered in OSX, but that cost money)

All of these things are about Linux; Ubuntu is just one version of Linux, nothing that special.

Q. What were you looking for in Ubuntu since the day to decided to switch either from Mac or Windows?

A. Something that wouldn't crash or take on viruses that destroyed valuable data.

Q. What do you like about Ubuntu so much?

A. Gnome Look (http://gnome-look.org/)

Q. What do you use in Ubuntu that no other OS offers?

A. That's a strange question due to you can do anything in any OS if you look long and hard enough. However, everything, except games, you can do in Win or Mac it can be done better, faster, leaner in Linux.

Q. Why are you liking it?

A. It's just better. Need I say more?

Q. What would you change?

A. Better Zune and XBox360 interface. Hating the fact I have to use my Win partition to put music and movies on the Zune and stream to my XBox360.

Beryl isn't a theme it's a discontinued project that's merged with compiz http://www.beryl-project.org/

For me, I use it because it works pretty much right out of the box for me with my hardware. I've used numerous distros in the past, and while all have worked pretty well for me, this one has been the most friendly.

I also like using Ubuntu because of the community of users. Very friendly, and lots of people willing to help out. Some Linux distros have a far more elitist attitude, but I like this community better.

I like Linux because I like the availability of free software and seeing what's possible outside of the Microsoft Windows world.

I love everything about it

What i would like to be added would be full compatibility with Itunes, and Call of Duty: WAW to be able to play on Ubuntu,
Other then that , its the best OS i have used so far
