I have downloaded and searched through the files of both the windows version, and the macintosh version of move media player. The windows verion is very normal stuff. The macintosh version calls system files for sound and video, just like a normal unix based plug-in should be used. If that is possible on OS X then it should be possible on Ubuntu. I have always wondered if Wine had been used to take the windows calls and reimplement them into native calls. I have heard about this being possible, but not assured about this coming into fruition. Is this possible? I imagine something similar was done to create the macintosh version.
