View Full Version : [ubuntu] 8.10 will not boot

March 14th, 2009, 11:10 PM
Have installed 8.10 as a dual boot with XP. XP still works.

Installed version stops at a pale screen with the mouse pointer operable.
Live CD version stops at a black screen with the mouse pointer operable.

Have attempted sudo apt-get update, & install build-essential.

Mem test is ok.

Safe mode runs through a bunch of code then asks if I want to resume normal boot, where the procces hangs as above.

From GParted, note: I can't read some of the file systems due to screen res, so they may be mis spelled
