Currently I use VMWare 1.0.8 for my XP install. Virtualbox is an option I am considering as someone advised me that it might run my XP install faster.

Is there any other option I have not looked at within VMWare/VMWare tools that could help speed up performance? Is Virtualbox the answer to speed things up?

They are the same speed wise. Bear in mind that VMWare supports Direct-X while Virtualbox supports OpenGL, so if you want to graphics/games, then you got to pick the right one.

Cheers,

Herman

Yeah. I use virtualization for my web design and graphic stuff (sadly Adobe still runs too buggy under Wine or Crossover). One reason I wished to speed things up was because I do ustream casting of my screen for tutorials. I know that I might be asking too much in running VM, and streaming with WebcamStudio but it was worth a shot to see if I could speed things up.
