wine and intrepid problem

i have a problem.
i installed wine 1.1.16 and when i try to start anything, including the guild wars installer which worked once for me while i was on ubuntu, it says starting on the taskbar and then the "starting" dissapears and that's it. nothing. anyone encountered this problem before?
ps. it does the same on 1.1.6 too :(

i tried reinstalling and a system restart but there was no effect... :(
also i noticed that internet explorer (the one bundled in wine) works, but winhlp.exe doesn't start .

You'll need to run the applications from a terminal and post any strange output here.

Are your video drivers properly installed?
