View Full Version : [ubuntu] Trippleboot!?!?!

ok i have Windows and unbuntu as a dualboot and it works fine. Now i wanted to install mac ox86 and wanted to know; If i install it wont it delete the MBR and i can only boot into mac anymore. Isnt there a way anymore in ubuntu to rescue my old mbr and to set it so that i can choose between the three ubuntu, windows xp and mac osx.

OSX has a bootloader and you can have multiple installed OSs. Ive seen it before, I know it works with windows, Im not sure about Linux, but I dont see why it would not work. You might need to configure the bootloader after you install osx so that you have the option to boot into one of the three.

This just means i somehow have to configure the bootloader of mac osx.
I dont know but i like ubuntu more for this command and edit thing stuff so can't i insert the livecd and do something so it sees all the os?

Im not sure what you mean.
Like ubuntu, OSX has a bootloader like grub. I do not know if that is something you can install during installation. I dont do OSX. If you prefer using grub as the bootloader, then google add osx to grub.

Oh ok i think i now understand. I should just say that it should not install a new bootloader but instead use the old one. Ok thx

Mac OS can be installed only on Apple branded hardware. Closing the thread.
