Hi everyone,

I have a problem:
I got my new notebook, Dell Studio XPS 1340 yesterday. I put Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 64 bit version on it (that it recognizes the 4GB memory). Everything is working so far EXCEPTING the build-in microphone. It seems to be an nVidia sound device. And I tried all possibilities in the mixer, but the microphone just doesn't work. It would be the last thing that my notebook is completely working with Ubuntu.

Are there any default tricks or hacks for nVidia sound devices?
I'm kind of desperate here :( (I'm dependent from that microphone. I have a long-distance relationship... -yeah I know, nobody really cares hehe-)

So please can anybody help me?

On M1530 and M1330's you have to double click the volume icon, click preferences, then enable all the channels. In the options tab, set the Digital Input Source as "Digital Mic 1".

damis648, you are the god! :D
It couldn't be simpler. Thank you a lot! It worked for me just perfectly.
I wish all problems in life were as easy solved as in Ubuntu ... ;)
