Ok I have tried EVERYTHING with the Realtek 8187B wireless card, and NOTHING works satisfactorily.
Does anyone know if it will work better with the upcoming kernel update or should we just give up with this bit of hardware?

Sometimes it works for a whole day without problems, and then other times it takes me 20 minutes to get any reaction what so ever from Firefox!

Does anyone have any news or suggestions?

All help/encouragement would be very welcome!

I have something very saddening to report:

I have just plugged the USB dongle from my old laptop that didn't have wireless in and I have totally quick, problem free internet without having to install anything!
I really hope that the clever people who know about these things can get the support for this wireless card sorted out for the next kernel update.

Your google-fu is weak :)

Google pointed me to this thread on this forum:

Try it, and see if it helps.
