Hi all,
My first post so I'm sorry in advance for any mistakes I make. I have been playing with Kubuntu and Ubuntu for a bit and unfortunately I'm only slowly clawing my way up this learning curve. I was finally able to actually semi-successfully install a ATI driver from the ATI website. I say semi-successfully because I have it working but I can't make any adjustments to my screens. I am forced to have my dual monitors on clone only.
So here it is, when I open the ATI Catalyst Control Center and click on the Display Manager I can see the "Properties" and "Multi-Display" tabs. The "Multi-Display" tab is normally where I can select the Big Display or whatever. Unfortunately after installing this my "Display Configuration" pull down only says "Unknown". I can't change anything and I'm really lost as to how to begin to troubleshoot this.
I would really appreciate any suggestions. I thought I read in some place that it was controlled by a file but I really have no idea. Thanks for any help you can give to a nub's first post.
Regards,
Ceza
