I need a complete but similar alternative to photoshop////

but i need some to also work in windows as well as in ubuntu linux....

is there anything this like ?

in web search, i found gimp and gimpshop..

are they both the same ?? or both are diffenent ??

Plz.... i am confused....

as far as I know, gimpshop is a fork of the gimp with a more photoshop-esque interface

but yeah, just use the gimp (installed by default in ubuntu)

Gimp and Gimpshop are the same thing, they have the same effects and options, gimpshop is just organized more like photoshop. I would just go with Gimp though. If you're on Ubuntu though, there should be a version of Gimp already installed under Applications >Graphics.

The best alternative to photoshop under Ubuntu is definitely the GIMP. It is very powerful, and works under windows as well as Linux. The previous issues of Full Circle Magazine (htt[://fullcirclemagazine.org) are a good place to learn some more about the GIMP.
