I thought I posted this, but can't find it sooo.... I am just wondering about a wireless card (am trying to set up a wireless router on here). using the 'lspci' command in the terminal, this is the only 'ethernet' mention I get: Ethernet controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT6102 [Rhine-II] (rev 78)
I suspect that is for my connection to the internet, but not for wireless. Another cmmputer in the house was connected to my computer via wireless home network so we could share the dsl internet account (it does have a wireless card, as there is an antenna in the back) but I'm not sure if my cmputer had to have a card as well, for this to work. I don't want to open my computer to look for a card :) thanks for any advice

My wireless card is reported as a network controller in lspci. Wireless is not ethernet so it makes sense.

Thanks very much for your reply Nepherte, I guess you are right, have to shell out for a 'Network Controller' (card) and installation :)
