Hello. I'm new to Wine but would like to play some games. I love Mafia and would really lika to get it working. So I downloaded the installer from lifl.org and ran it. I had Wine installed but it was not a good version. So I checked the Wine manual, added the right repositories and updated everything.

Now I want to setup wine using winecfg, but it is really buggy! Everytime I start it I get the message:
$ winecfg
Warning: the specified Windows directory L"c:\\windows" is not accessible.
Warning: the specified System directory L"c:\\windows\\system32" is not accessible.
Warning: could not find DOS drive for current working directory '/home/christian/.wine', starting in the Windows directory.

Also, winecfg does not keep the changes in settings that I've made.
Further, I can't add a new application to winecfg, because when I click Applications, Add application, I can't do anything with the window that appears...

I know this might be a question to post on some Wine-forum, but I thought I should try it here first.

Now it works. At least somewhat...

But I do get messages like
Warning: the specified Windows directory L"c:\\windows" is not accessible.
Warning: the specified System directory L"c:\\windows\\system32" is not accessible.
Warning: the specified Windows directory L"c:\\windows" is not accessible.
Warning: the specified System directory L"c:\\windows\\system32" is not accessible.

Also, none of the settings I make in the game (Mafia) are saved, which makes it a bit useless...

What to do about this?
