when i try to log on to my openvpn server with the normal openvpn client i have no problem but the client in networkmanager comes up with the following error

Could not start the VPN connection 'lappie@home' due to a connection error.

The VPN login failed because the VPN program could not connect to the VPN server.

i have searched an googled and found some people who say it might be a problem with the client in networkmanager but they are all pretty old posts does anyone have an idea if this problem was allready solved? or better yet how to solve it
