View Full Version : [ubuntu] Should I upgrade from Hardy to Intrepid in PPC?

I'm using Ubuntu Hardy on my iBook and was wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to Intrepid. Will it still work with my CDROM and microphone and will it still work fast on PPC? And I was just wondering what are the changes from Hardy to Intrepid?

I have a G4 Ibook. The upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10 was the very first upgrade that worked for me. It went smoothly. Every other time I had tried to upgrade I could not and had to do a fresh install. With the proper caution to backup your personal files I think you should go for it. Remember to backup the hidden files in home for apps that are important to you. to me those are Mozilla, Mozilla-Thunderbird and Tomboy. what is important to you may be different.

Most important: back up your the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf
