I have this

Atheros Communications Inc. AR242x 802.11abg Wireless PCI Express Adapter (rev 01)

I basically am new to Ubuntu and don't know how to get my wireless working. PLease be noob friendly!

Do you know if you have the switch for your wireless network on or off?

On the upper right corner of the screen you should have an icon which you can click on to able to change your network connection. I'm not using Ubuntu myself at the present so I can't see it for myself, do you see it?

I click it and it says wired network but isnt clickable and then says auto etho and hten vpn connections
