Long story short, I work a at a school district and I need to map the wireless network we have because we have overlapping problems with mixed up MAC addresses on each access point. We have 1 main console switch that all access points get plugged into. These access points are POE (Power Over Ethernet).
I'm looking for a WiFi radar that'll tell me detailed information about the access point I'm connected to. I want to be able to tell when I roll off of one access point and attach to another. I want to see the exchange in MAC addresses from 1 access point to another. I'd also like to see a decent signal strength bar so I can map out which rooms get signal from certain areas.
Is there a program like this that exists for Ubuntu?
