hi all.
I's like to play some of the old Infinity Engine games again (Icewind Dale, Planescape Tornment...). now I need Ubuntu-compatible archive for Wine-20050419. anyone out there has a Debian package available?

I could use the scr of course, but I have a (more recent) wine installed already and have been through the complete winetools-process. don't want to do all that again. best just to remove wine with apt and dpkg -i the older version, leaving my config intact.

can anybody point me to a .deb?

kind regards,
Carsten

Try this:
http://www.winehq.com/site/download-deb

that only gives me the most recent version, which is known _not_ to run the software I want. I know I want exactly 20050419. I have it in binary form as a .tar.gz but I want to install it in a political / technical correct way into Ubuntu.

Not that I can see. Try the closest match you can find from here http://packages.ubuntu.com/cgi-bin/search_packages.pl?keywords=wine&searchon=names&subword=1&version=all&release=all
