Online wireless in windows. Installed 8.10 in dual boot but need help getting online wireless. The Netgear card has the 2 flashing green lights
and my initial ubuntu screen after installation did have a momentary box flash on upper right which I took for recognition. My first experience with wireless and this is a 2nd computer. Happy to give any other info I missed and thanks

Can you give the terminal output for iwconfig and ifconfig in code tags? Also, what is the model number of your adapter?

Please understand I am on my PC looking at the wireless unit in question physically typing. Never thought I could appreciate copy & paste until one has to do this.
As for the adapter for the netgear not sure here are two numbers CE098 & WGT624

I still have to give you terminal code on lo and wifiO
Really appreciate this and hope this gets you started

When you determine what adaptors you have look here.

It looks like wifi0 and ath0 are two different wifi adapters.

I think ath0 refers to your WGT624 device.

This means your drivers are probably installed. Have you tried connecting to wifi using the command line?

What happens when you try to connect using the GUI?

i fought the connection issues to my router (Ubuntu 8.10) with my pci adapters and a netgear USB, with various levels of connectivity to my router, but none fully functional. all the adapters worked under WinXP.

it was suggested to purchase the USB Belkin F5D7050 to use with Ubuntu 8.10, and it worked out of the box as predicted - no monkey business. i have purchased two more for all of my computers.
