I don't know what i'm doing wrong.

Hi rwonder.

At the top of firefox, click tools> addons> browse all addons> plugins.

Install divx web player, quicktime plugin, shockwave flash, vlc multimedia, windows media.

Also click in ubuntu system> administration> synaptic package manager.

Enter password. Search for flash. Install flash non-free.

i couldn't find the plugins for divx web player, quicktime, shockwave flash, vlc multimedia.

Adobe Flash Player was installed however and thats what mozilla is telling me i need.

shockwave and quicktime supposedly don't exist for linux
synaptic package manager says flash non-free is installed

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

there's a .deb for 8.04 and newer, it doesn't get much easier.

I just switched to ubuntu (8.10) yesterday, and I'm getting "not available" when I try to get Firefox to install the flash player.

And I've tried to do the manual install. It says it is, but when I restart Firefox, still no flash.

I updated this morning to 8.10...and same problem...but i realized its not just adobe flash! NONE of the plugins work, but they install!
