Hi,

Can anyone recommend a webcam that will actually work on 8.10 please.
I have checked through numerous sites on the subject and have now purchased a total of three different webcams all of which where meant to work, yet not one single one has...the last one which according to one site was fully UVC compliant (I think they call it UVC), is not recognised period.

All I need is a webcam that will basically just plug and play and that I can use with both MSN & Yahoo IM's, without having to configure a million and one different things, none of which ever seem to work properly...am I really asking too much, to get this?

I would prefer a high res webcam.

Also is there an IM software anyone can recommend that again actually works for both Yahoo & MSN accounts, without having to install a million and one plug-ins?

Thanks
Alexis

Best buy Dynex DX-WEB1C was recommended to me on this forum. It works plug and play for me and others. Skype etc, Down load Cheese from Synatic or the add/remove under application. The model i mentioned is about $39.

Many thanks for that...took me a while to track one down, but now I have it, well I've got it working in Skype anyway, so that;s a start..need to sort out for Kopete, but I'm sure that will just take a short time

Cheers
