sound driver problems

I am using xubuntu and am having problems with sound, I believe I have two sound cards any thoughts how I can correct this?? I am a new user.

please explain more, what version (8.04, 8.10, etc...). What problems are you having

Go to system>preferences>sound.

In that windows make sure the card you want to use is selected.
