and my favorite gift was...
iAudio M5 HDD Portable Digital Audio Player

Got:
1)Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the one with a bonus disc and a copy of the script.
2) new woolen trousers--I've been needing a pair for a while. Also a new shirt, and some khakis.
3) Some cash, which I'll use to buy myself a proper tripod for my camera.
Gave:
1) To Mom: A new mini-ITX computer, which will have Ubuntu on it. Still need to get a few build parts in.
2) To Dad: Wireless USB mouse.
3) To Middlebro: New woolen scarf and wool greatcoat (also to Dad, and myself. We all take early morning trains to work/school, so warm clothes are always nice if you've got to stand around waiting...).
4) To littlebro: Madden '06 for his PS2.
It was a great christmas. Each of us got what we wanted, and everybody gave what they wanted to give. For us, it's not so much about the stuff, as that we're all home safe together.

I spent all day Xmas installing Puppy Linux and converting my MS Access database (for used books I sell online) into something usable in Linux (wound up with Gnumeric). The db conversion was a bitch...
But I have not used win98 since then, and will soon reformat the win98 drive. And my Ubuntu showed up today, so, all in all, a very good Xmas. The tree appears to have fallen on Bill Gates...
