I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to update aMsn. I'm using the Ubuntu Ultimate 2.0, It came with a previously installed version. Thank you

if it is included in ubuntu repos, then simply "sudo apt-get remove amsn" and then "sudo apt-get update" and then "sudo apt-get install amsn" this way you will get updated version of amsn (if availble) through package manager.

if it isn't availble through package manager, then download the package/source from amsn website and install/build.

but why not useing pidgin, since amsn doesnt include voice and video, other functions of pidgin and amsn are similar. pidgin has various plugins to enhance it and support various protocols.

what is your opinion ?

I did not know piding did that. I used aMSN on Mac before so I wanted to use a program I was use to. Thank you for the help and quick respond. I'll give pidgin a try
