I wanted to know if anybody has any news on google chrome linux. I thought it would be out by now. I have it on my windows and i like it a lot. If no one else has tried it yet, i suggest you give it a shot. I was spectacle at first but after the first time i used it, i haven't used anything else since. but anyway, this isnt a review or anything. Just wanted to know if anyone had ideas or input as to what is going on.

I read somewhere that they were doing a re-write especially for Linux and OS X, don't know the accuracy on that. But yeah, as posters have mentioned it should be out by summer.

All I know is that it's going to be written in GTK+, I would've wanted Qt but as long as I have Chrome on Linux it doesn't matter.

It's kind of hard to get people to code for QT when KDE 4 has been such a disaster that even Linus had to eat his own words and switch to Gnome.

KDE 4.2 is actually awesome, but it's going to take some time for people to give it a second chance. The next version of all distributions will have KDE 4.2 built in, so we'll see how people react from there.

Qt does not equal KDE. Also, Google Earth uses Qt, so it would have made sense for Chrome to use it too, but I guess Google doesn't want to favour either of the toolkits too much :p
