I want to organize an event in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario (specifically at the International Center) to promote Ubuntu, Linux, and Open Source and to help people with problems they're having and to have a huge installfest. We could rent out booths to Novell, Red Hat, give Canonical one for free, give Debian one for free - basicallt if a company makes money off Linux they have to pay to be at Linuxfest but if they don't make money off Linux they don't have to pay to be at Linuxfest.
Who wants to help me?

Canonical is commercial... you'd have to charge them.

Perhaps you could include more than just a set of booths. Take a look at Linuxfest Northwest (http://linuxfestnorthwest.org/), if you need a few ideas.

Do Novell make money off Linux? I'm not sure... but both Novell and Canonical plan to make money off Linux.

Alright, I'd like to start planning this. If you're interested please send me a personal message. I would like to have the event in the summer (end of July, Beginning of August) and we could subsidize it by also making it a "alternative technology" event - all open source instead of just Linux
