I am assuming I download the .deb version, and install through terminal, but nothing I've tried has worked.
The name of the file is cedega_5.0.1_i386.deb and it's on my desktop.... Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I'm not asking where you get that .deb from....
But the newest is 5.0.3 try with that instead. By the way which arch are you using? i386 amd64?

Then install xlibs. You can use system/administration/synaptic, or enter
apt-get install xlibs
