osd pause bar annoying

Is there a way to make the progress/pause (timeline) bar disappear from the screen while the screen is paused?

Xbmc? If so, brother was using and issue is now fixed.
(disregard...after further discussion, although same type issue, was in relation to Xbox, not video playback, etc...#-o)
