I was playing around with the ubuntu 8.10 ecryptfs folder encryption tool, it seems interesting, but personally useless. Then I though what can I do with this, then this Idea came to me. Would there be a way to make ecryptfs believe my flash drive was the private directory. The purpose of this would be to have it so your flash drive appears to have some assorted useless files on it on any other computer, but when you plug it into your ubuntu machine and mount it it read all the encrypted files and hides the unsecured ones. Has someone already tryed this or is this something that should be attempted?
Thanks,

You can do this with either Truecrypt or LUKS.

You could probably do it with ecryptfs as well ...
