how to make my system lounder?

After I install my ubuntu on my laptop, the speaker is not as loud as it was under windows. I'd like to know that if there is any method to make it lounder?

Make sure you've turned up the volume of the relevant tracks in gnome-volume-manager (Master, PCM and so forth). Clicking 'Preferences' will let you see more tracks.

Edit: Hmm, this thread is prefixed with Kubuntu but you say Ubuntu. The above will work in Ubuntu.
