Greetings,

I am a bit confused about how Gnome handles installing new themes. In this example, I downloaded a theme from gnome-look.org (watervapor-0.65) and it said all you need to do in order to apply it is open the System -> Preferences -> Appearance, then just drag the .tar.gz theme file into the theme dialogue box and it will apply. Well, it did, kind of. It changed the look of the windows and so forth, but didn't seem to change icons, desktop background and so forth. When I manually opened up the .tar.gz file, there were many directories:

gtk2.0
metacity-1

inside the gtk2.0 folder was an icons folder, why did this not get applied? Is there another way I should be installing themes? Can anyone help demystify gnome themes?

Ive found other themes on gnome-look that i want to try, but not until I get it figured out how to apply them.

Thanks!
