I have ubuntu 64 bit installed on my dual core (64 bit processor).

Someone told me that its better to use the 32 bit as its more optimized. It is really advisable.

And I am tired with presently what I am using..

I have flash installed and I can watch flash videos but i can't scroll the bar back and watch the same video again.

And I can't view my university notes which is on a particular website which is in flash paper format. I dont know why this is so. Anyone got a solution with this

Since you have a 64bit dual core, you might as well.
Especially if you have over 4GB of RAM.

Most things won't really use it but you won't notice any stability issues.

As far as Flash I use the alpha version of 64bit flash 10 (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html)

Though i too use a 64 bit OS. I suggest u to use a 32 bit.
Previously i too had the same doubt.... I asked many people they suggested to use 32 bit b'se as the OS is 32bit the other resources can be used to other processes which may speed up ur processes. But this change can be felt only when u r running many applications symultaniously.!:p

The sticky's at the start of this sub-forum are all well worth reading, they should help you in deciding how many bits you want to play with:

This is a recurring discussion on these forums.

The bottom line, unless you have a specific reason not to, use the 64 bit version. If yo have to ask you probably do not have a reason.

See the sticky at the top of the 64 bit forum for "reasons"

There is a reason it is a sticky ;)

Otherwise most of the conversation is nothing but opinions and other peoples experiences , all of which is a short search away.

For your flash player problem, follow this tutorial (http://news.softpedia.com/news/How-to-Install-Adobe-Flash-Player-64-bit-on-Ubuntu-8-10-98076.shtml). The best tutorial - extremely easy to follow and so freaking fast, you won't notice you will have finished installing :D just make sure you copy and paste the webpage into open office word processor (or whatever you have) because you have to close firefox to be able to install the new release of flash player 64 bit.

BTW I use 64 bits and I love it (especially because it identifies my 16 gigs ram;))
