No it does not :( I am testing it on Skype and all it shows is a screen of fuzzy colours...help anyone?
I have Ubuntu 8.10, if that counts for something.

The reason why the Quickcam E1000 DOES work out of the box on Ubuntu 8.04 is that Ubuntu 8.04 uses v4l1 driver which was changed to v4l2 driver for Intrepid. this is a known bug with lots of info and advice - some good , some not so good on launchpad.

I just went out to the local Wal-Mart and picked up this thing for $17. Just to clarify -- the QuickCam E1000 does work out of the box in Ubuntu 8.10 for applications that are using V4L2, such as Cheese 2.24.2 and Ekiga 3.0.0 SVN. If you have an app like Skype or Camorama that can only use V4L1, Check out https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/49739 for something that might help.
