Normally, Cairo-Clock with the smooth needle movement, it's at least 10% for the Clock, and 12% for X.
That's quite heavy for a mere clock !
Hopefully, Cairo-Dock2 solves the problem, and now has a Clock applet which is compatible with the Cairo-Clock themes, has the smooth movement, and takes ... 0% of CPU ! yes, almost nothing, making your CPU get bored and your battery last longer.
Here is a short demo, not very readble though. the CPU load is due to gtk-recordmydesktop.

How to : install Cairo-Dock2, activate the Clock applet, drag it out of the dock on your desktop, you're done !
you can resize it with alt+middle-click, and rotate it in 3D as much as you want ^_^

Don't know if this is the right thread to post, I posted also here: http://www.cairo-dock.org/bg_topic.php?t=2646&pos=0#mess_33258

I downloaded from http://developer.berlios.de/project/showfiles.php?group_id=8724&release_id=15624
cairo-dock-plug-ins_v2.0.0-rc5_x86_64.deb
cairo-dock_v2.0.0-rc5_x86_64.deb
(I'm on Ubuntu 9.04 64bit)
I change the permissions with "sudo chmod 777 ..." than "sudo gdebi ...". The installer starts but I get an error "The package might be corrupted or you are not allowed to open the file. Check the permissions of the file."
What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
Luca

PS I try to install v2.0 rc5 because the version in Ubuntu repositories works but doesn't change themes (I have to manually download the themes and extract them one by one) The same for plugins.
