Is there any other programs like aircrack-ng that do the same job (preferably a GUI) iv heard of air snort but thats not in development anymore:(

Have a look at Backtrack (http://www.remote-exploit.org/backtrack_download.html). Most penetration testing utilities are command line.

Yes it is, it is also a LiveCD, so you can run it without installing.

I'm pretty sure airsnort is dead.
Someone over in the Programming Talk section is building an interface for aircrack.

Backtrack is good. Backtrack version 4 is currently in beta. Previously to version 4 it was built on the Slackware core. Beginning with version 4 it is built on Ubuntu. Right now the only way to run BT4 is through a liveCD or through vmware.

What's wrong with aircrack anyways? Its straightforward and the documentation is fairly complete. Use with Kismet.

Hmmm the live CD aproach cant be done (or at leasrt not for a little while) because i dont have a CD drive for my laptop.
any other soloutions?

If you are using Intrepid or better you can use System-->Administration-->USB Startup Disk Creator to put the iso on a usb device.

There is a gui for aircrack-ng : pycracker . Also backtrack is good, you can use LIVE CD or vmware/virtualbox image
