I've had a problem with gnome-power-manager starting up when I turn on my laptop. The only time that the power manager will start working is when I update through the GUI automatic updater, I haven't checked if it works when I apt-get upgrade. After the update, the little battery icon appears in the panel and I can suspend my laptop, but the effect is over when I reboot. I'm using a Toshiba Satellite, not sure which model, but it's the only one with a AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM-80, I'm sure of that. Anybody else hear of this problem, or is this kind of a universal thing?

Actually I just logged out and logged back in only to find that this also undoes the power-manager. So whenever my session ends, the power manager quits as well, so it might be a script maybe?
