Slune is a 3D car racing-crashing game. It's free, and included (but not installed) with Ubuntu repositories by default. The game features nice, clean 3D graphics using python, and enjoyable soundtracks.

Replayability of the game is low for advanced gamers, but it's a nice game for a change after a long typing session! :) Go ahead and try it!

Good stuff, thanks for the review. I think I'll try it out when I get home. I miss my Ubuntu here at work :(

WHile the game itself is fun, I didn't like the preachyness of the subject matter.

I am sorry to say this, but Slune is the most horrible game I've ever seen. I prefer Torcs.

If you can pinpoint the details of "preachyness", perhaps I can improve myself! :) Please do it. Thanks! :)

Of course Slune is just a very basic game, but it's so simple to play! :)
Torcs is 152MB in size, much bigger than Slune. Why don't you write a short description of Torcs and post some screenies here? :)
Thanks! :)

Anyone know how to complete the final level of the campaign?

It looks like I've got to run that wierd track somehow but I get into really bad POV problems like the camera is spinning or showing the outside of the track while tux is on the inside and it becomes impossible to control. Also what are the two map locations for?

Update, well the two locations appear to be the corners of the map, don't know if they have special significance other than helping you not fall off.

I just skulked around the edge of the map till the alien turned up then pulled jumps till it overshot and fell off. I don't think that's how I'm supposed to win though.
