View Full Version : [ubuntu] problem with nautilus after install

Had to reinstall this a.m. because of some issue with nautilus. I was installing some pkgs this morning when the battery died during the download process. When i plugged in and booted up I got an error. something about nautilus and killing the bonobo-activation-server. All the panel applets would not load. I searched google and forums for a fix but nothing. I reinstalled gnome-panel, gnome-applets, gnome-applets-data and keep getting same error.

So now out of desperation I reinstalled ubuntu. after successful install and reboot I get the same freakin error. No panel applets no nautilus. WTF!!!

Its bad enough that the installer is buggered with the cdrom thing and that I have to edit /etc/yaboot.conf for a proper boot.

also this error didn't show after the first install until the battery died.

You completely formatted and reinstalled? Did you leave a /home partition?
