I need some help on installing a WG111V3 network dongle, on a stationary PC. I currently have a wireless network card which didn't work with ubuntu drivers. Now i've got a hold of the WG111V3 however, which I've been is completely compatible. I have Wicd manager installed on ubuntu by the way.
The thing is i have no idea whatsoever how i'd go around installing this. When I insert the dongle nothing happens. I have a cd with the driver if it makes any difference.
I apologise for my lack of knowledge, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to ubuntu.

You'll need ndiswrapper and the windows xp driver for the netgear WG111v3

I'm pretty sure I have ndiswrapper, and I have the driver in a tar.bz2 file. But because I have another wireless netcard it conects through that, and ubuntu can't locate the dongle.

free. Try using this site. It explains ndiswrapper pretty thoroughly. The install was for a different wifi card but just substitute the card you use.

I have an AirLink101 AWLH3028 pci card that I couldn't get working. I followed these instructions, using the appropriate driver of course and a wired connection. It got my card working.
